Imo the women in top 20 on Labour's list clearly more competent than the men there.
Headlines we've never seen: "National's male-dominated list" #misogyny @NZStuffPolitics
Looking at that Labour List - 3 new faces in the top 30, positions 23, 25 & 30. Could be tough for them to get in
Willow-Jean Prime @WillowPrime
Labour Party - List Selection - Check it out. I'm 34! #PrimeForNorthland https://www.labour.org.nz/media/labour-list-2014 …
Chris Finlayson @chrisfinlayson
Unfair to suggest @annetterongotai's #4 list place shows Labour rejects rejuvenation - shows more how worried they are about losing Rongotai
When media outlets publish party lists, I'd like to see age and time of service (in Parliament) next to names. Make it happen.
Further to that earlier Davis #TTT tweet. Kelvin Davis still says no deal with Mana and Harawira.
Surely that cannot be. The party won't have engineered a situation where, if it matches the result of 2011, it goes in with no new MPs.
Cantabrians won't support Labour, when they have no Chch MPs ranked highly on its list. Neglecting NZs 2nd largest city #labourslist
@gtiso Only new MPs will be elect: Sepuloni, Salesa, and prob Milne.
@gtiso We'll at least get Carmel back, plus Jenny Salesa in Manukau East. Tony Milne should win Christchurch Central on new boundaries.
Pretty meh with the Labour top 10. 11-25 gives a little bit of hope #labour #nzpols
Kelvin Davis ranked 18 on Labour List. could lead to some interesting musings in political circles over Labour's pledge to win TTT
So the effect of Labour's electorate old guard not standing on the list is to make the list looks fresher than it really is. #wellplayed
On current polls, @ngatibird will only be in Parliament if he wins Te Tai Tokerau.
David (Andrew) Chen @bobsalive
So much needed party rejuvenation... hasn't really happened. History shall haunt (some of) those faces for another three years. #nzpol
So I guess the renewal starts in 2017. #labourlist
@tui_talk @LewSOS If Labour doesn't lift their vote p quickly we might well be saddled with the same boring old fucks for another 3 years.
Grateful for news if/when Priyanca Radhakrishnan joins Twitter. And added Anjum Rahman@kiwistargazer to my Labour candidate list.
@LewSOS also, first 22 spaces are all sitting MPs. Given that a number of sitting MPs will prob win electorates, there may be no new faces.
Jarred Griffiths @jarredgriffiths
National must have not released talking points on the Labour List yet. Critics scrambling to find fault.
Clare Curran has withdrawn from the list. Possibly in the same way that I've withdrawn from consideration for the Italian football team.
If you want to make room for new blood, you gotta have a bloodbath, not a tea party.
BREAKING: Delay in releasing Labour list caused by need to remove name Donghua Liu from top of it
Rāwinia Thompson @rawiniathompson
Labour's Top 20 Greatest Hits: 9 women, 4 of whom are Māori, and 2 who are queer and Māori. #LabourList
Morgan Godfery @MorganGodfery
In an interesting move, @nzlabour seems to have published the cellphone numbers of its new list candidates: http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PO1406/S00372/labour-list-for-the-2014-election-announced.htm …
Imperator Fish @ImperatorFish
Haters gonna hate #Labourlist
Clare Curran also not on the list (she was previously 28).
Carol Beaumont has dropped five places to 27.
Amazing result! Feeling so excited and humbled. Big shout out to Labour Tauranga for all the hard work and everyone who supported us.
David Clark is one of the big movers on the list, @TrevorMallard has come off the list. Maryan Street is down from 7 to 15
9 out of top 20 on Labour list are women. Let's ask the men is that? A) too many women B) too few women C) abt right D) a feminazi plot
Matthew Hooton @MatthewHootonNZ
Congrats to @nzlabour list committee for ignoring stupid 45% female rule in list out now #nzpol
David (Andrew) Chen @bobsalive
Only a really pernickety dickhead (i.e. me) would question whether Labour has broken their own rules/constitution in their new list...
> David (Andrew) Chen @bobsalive
278. The list shall consist of at least sixty-five (65) places, the final number to be determined by the Moderating Committee.
Labour implements its man ban by chucking 16 male electorate candidates off the list.
Staggering 21 Labour electorate candidates not on the List.
Good result of gender representation reform within our party: we will get at least two was one new female MPs. Setting quotas works.
Laura McQuillan @mcquillanatorz
Mallard, Dyson, Faafoi off the list
Katie Bradford @katieabradford
Electorate only MPs for Labour are Trevor Mallard, Kris Faafoi, Clare Curran, Ruth Dyson, Rino Tirakatene
@TrevorMallard opts not to go on Labour list. Shame. One of their brightest stars and most loyal to Leader.
A policy analyst from the Ministry of Women's Affairs Priyanca Radhakrishnan is the top non MP on Labour's new list. In at 23.
Morgan Godfery @MorganGodfery
I have no idea who Priyanca Radhakrishnan is, but go WOC. Go you good thing. http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PO1406/S00372/labour-list-for-the-2014-election-announced.htm …
Carmel Sepuloni almost beat Paula Bennett in 2011 - you'd think she'd be a bit higher: http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PO1406/S00372/labour-list-for-the-2014-election-announced.htm …
> Grant Robertson @grantrobertson1
@danylmc strong assumption that she will win Kelston.
The List (64 people) has 30 men and 34 women. 21 (16 men and 5 women) are standing only for electorates #ttrtpt
Priyanca and Rachel will be awesome additions to caucus and are both likely to get in. Awesome result from moderation committee.
No Trevor Mallard on the Labour Party list, electorate only. His choice. Wanted to give colleagues like Kelvin Davis a better chance
Tamai Coffey and Priyanca Radhakrishnan top non MPs on Labour's new list. See Beehive Live for the full list http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/beehive-live/10181110/Beehive-Live-June-23-2014 …
Apologies, Rachel Jones ahead of Coffey - she's the candidate for Tauranga and a owns a second hand book shop
Katie Bradford @katieabradford
Labour's list ranking is out. Highest non sitting MP is Priyanca Radhakrishnan, a policy analyst. 9 out of top 20 are women.
