Hillary Clinton is proving to be the favourite presidential nominee of American millionaire and billionaires. She has just announced that her fundraising in the first quarter of 2007 has netted her US$26m to add to her existed $10m in campaign funds. This figure easily breaks all previous records - it's three times the previous record for any Democrat or Republican politician. Republican contenders have the following amounts: Mitt Romney $20m, Rudy Giuliani $15m, and John McCain $13m. A WSWS article says all these enormous figures 'are an expression of the hammerlock which wealthy corporate interests enjoy over the US two-party political system'.
